How to edit your company site's URL and Theme

How to edit your company site's URL and Theme

You have two main options when it comes to setting up your company site URL.

Option A: Using the Default Magic Door URL

If you are using the default Magic Door URL (the one that ends with .magdoor.com), the good news is that you don't need to buy a domain just to edit it.
Your PM portal -> Settngs -> Portal invite&url
• Simply go to portal invite and URL within your Magdoro account to make changes.

Option B: Switching to a Custom Domain

If you want a truly personalized address, like mycompany.com, you'll need to purchase your own custom domain. Your PM portal -> Settngs -> Portal invite&url -> Modify your URL
Here is the essential setup process for custom domains:

  1. Purchase Your Domain: Buy the domain you want (e.g., my company.com).
  2. Set Up the CNAME Record: You will need to set up a CNAME record within your domain’s DNS. You typically perform this action on the site where you bought your domain.
  3. Point the Record: Point this CNAME record to your Magic Door URL.
  4. Wait for Activation: After setting up the CNAME, you must wait about an hour for HTTPS to activate.

A Critical Note: Once you successfully switch to a custom domain (like the example used in the demonstration, hogwarts-est.com), the default Magic Door URL will no longer work. Searching the old default URL will show an error, while your new custom domain will work successfully

Customizing the Website Theme

Once your URL is sorted, it’s time to make your site look stunning and match your brand aesthetic.
To begin customizing the website theme, go to portal settings.
Here, you can easily change several key elements to match your brand identity:

  • Color Theme
  • Logo
  • Background Image

Your PM portal -> settings -> Portal-settings -> Theme
